Sustainable fashion

Many people identify sustainable fashion as just clothes made from sustainable materials. However, for H&M Group, the responsibility goes a lot further than this and spans across all our brands and our entire value chain.

To use our influence to bring systemic change to the entire fashion industry is one of H&M Group’s greatest missions — from improving the livelihood of the people working in our suppliers’ factories to encouraging our customers to recycle their clothes through our garment recycling scheme

We want our customers to be proud of what they wear, not only because they look and feel good in their clothes, but also because of the way the clothes have been made and the environmental and social impact the garments have had.

Today, sustainable fashion goes way beyond organic cotton tees. All the brands within H&M Group offer sustainable basics, but also covetable fashion pieces and thoughtfully manufactured design items. Many of the brands offer environmentally-friendly capsule collections made out of sustainable or recycled materials, the H&M’s Conscious Exclusive collections being one of the most recognised.

Showing that sustainable fashion has a place on both the red carpet as well as a natural part of our day-to-day lives is just one of the ways in which we are pushing the development forward towards a more sustainable fashion future.
