Skinny jeans have been Cheap Monday’s trademark since the brand started in 2004 when its first fit ‘Tight’ hit the market. During the years, the brand has offered a full range of denim and collections for men and women. Cheap Monday has always been closely connected to music and popular culture and worn by a loyal fan base of creative people.
Cheap Monday was born out of the Weekday concept as a jeans brand in 2004 and was developed into a brand with full-scale collections the following year. Cheap Monday has been part of the H&M group since 2008. As previously communicated, Cheap Monday will be closed down in 2019. The H&M group’s transformation work in response to the extensive changes within the fashion industry means that the company is prioritising and focusing on its core business. Cheap Monday’s business model is based on traditional wholesale, which is a model that has faced major challenges due to the shift in the industry. The H&M group has therefore decided to close down Cheap Monday.
